Bonus, Increment, Promotion. Alhamdulillah, I got the B and I. 0.4 months of B and 7.2% of I. No Promotion unfortunately. The letter was handed during a short department meeting a few days ago. Soon after, my reporting officer called me for a private chat. He asked if i was disappointed not getting the promotion that i had wanted. No, i am not expecting it already. I am looking out for better opportunity elsewhere. I did not tell him that though. I only smiled said i did not. He mentioned he recommended me for a promotion but he explained that i did not get it due to the limited quota for promotion. As a consolation, i was given higher bonus than the rest of my team for my good performance.
He told me he will submit a recommendation again this year and on my part i have to generate result on Windows Installer that i am tasked to look into. I told him I need time to concerntrate on that since support and maintenence duties occupied much of my time. I listed to him the things that i can do to find time for myself. Like automating and shortening work process.
With the increment, one thing will change. I cannot claim overtime. There is only transport claim. I was ‘enjoying’ charging lots of overtime these past few months. Due to work of course:). While working hard, I will not stop my effort in looking out for new and better career opportunity…
