Ouch. The left side of my back hurts. Most probably due to sleeping sideways on the couch. I had a problem with my iPhone upgrading. My phone goes into recovery loop when i was upgrading it to iOS4. It couldn’t detect my iPhone as recovery mode driver. My windows OS keeps prompting new device found but i am not able to install it. I started google for solution.
I tried almost every method suggested by forummers and Apple support page. Restart system, path the new hardware found dialog to a certain folder, re-install iTunes and all didn’t work. I uninstalled all Apple software and downloaded the installers again. I was lying down when i was downloading iTunes. I watched tv while waiting and that was when i dozed off. I was on there lying on the couch for probably 3 hours. I woke up at 3.45am. Awake long enough to switch off the tv and lappy, gathered all my stuff into my room and went to back to sleep, on my bed.
So i didnt manage to solve the issue last then. I just did it. I manage to get my phone working again and successfully upgraded to iOS4. As mention, the problem is the detection and installation of the device as Apple Recover mode. The root cause? Should be the system has detected my iPhone as a “USB Composite device”. I tried updating the USB Composite device node in Device Manager, selected Apple USB Recovery mode driver when prompted with option to install it as “USB Composite device” or “Apple USB Recovery mode” (Don’t have any screenshot to show here). I knew i got it right when i see the recovery button in iTunes. I solve the issue!!
phew…all my phone data is intact after recovery. Lots of memories in there. I don’t need to go down to service center since it’s alive again now. Only maybe go down to the pharmacy to get medicated plaster for my back ache :). Ouch…
Havent explored the new OS yet. So far the obvious change that i notice is the background now is the wallpaper that i chose instead of plain black background i used to see. In terms of performance, my Buzz buddy told me that it slows down the phone. I’ll see how it goes…
