The interview

Posted on May 26, 2010 by Azare Puasa

I arrived early for the interview. It was originally scheduled for 2.30pm but then i receive a call from Jamie that it is rescheduled to 4pm and then to 3.30pm. I was early. Arrived at Tg Pagar MRT at 2.40pm. Had time to walk around the the area before i took a stroll to the office.Jamie told me the office is on the 3rd floor, above the row of bridal shops. She told me to look out for the company’s post box. I found it this time.

I entered the office and was told to wait as the interviewer is not available. I sat and waited and look around. It was a small office. Around 20 staff.  After around 10 minutes wait, I was greeted by a lady. I was surprised as i expected a guy to interview me. I mean IT field is mostly made up of guys. So she led me to their meeting room which is 1 level above.

She asked me questions about my experiences in Java, JSP, Struts, Web 2.0, android and a few other stuff. I was nervous. I gave my best answer and i was frank to her for those questions that i dont know like Struts. Then she allowed me to ask her questions. I asked her a few. 3 to be exact. Abt differentiation the junior and senior post, abt the expectation and the distribution of new and maintenance project. Being nervous, i forgotten to ask simple questions like what kind of applications the company develops. It was over in 20 mins. She wrapped it up by saying if i am selected, i will be called for another round of interview next week. Hopefully they will call me.

Once again, wish me gd luck :).
